I sometimes forget that there are pretty little corners in our house, little spaces that aren't piled with rubble and broken tiles and damaged floorboards. In celebration of the fact that our new bathroom arrived this month (oh it's going to be so fine when it's a bathroom and not just lots of bits of bathroom sitting in the hall and living room and kitchen) I thought I'd share some of the lovelier corners with you....

giiirl! those are some SHOES!
ReplyDeleteOh Peonies, the glass of water with bubbles makes me feel that thirst is quenchable...
ReplyDeletebooks, tons and tons of books. I love books.
ReplyDeleteOo shoes and books lovely
ReplyDeletePretty shoes!
ReplyDeleteI can't decide if I love the books or the shoes more...
ReplyDeletepretty shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog is beautiful, I very much enjoy going on it :) Lovely lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteOh my... I don't think the forgotten corners on my home are that pretty. Perhaps I should spend a little more time looking.
ReplyDeleteI want your shoes. And your book shelf. Because you are amazing.
ReplyDeleteOooh! You have a copy of The Bride Stripped Bare! I've never met anyone else who has read it and it made such an impression on me that I am now terribly over excited to find someone who has. I used to feel that way with my ex, and I'm so glad I don't any more :) Hope that the wedding season chills out for you soon.
ReplyDeletebeautiful. I long for our own house/flat so we can have beautiful storage!
ReplyDeleteOh darling I want to live in your shoe closet. Or on your bookshelf, as it seems that your shoe closet is already claimed.
ReplyDeleteOh..! The wallpaper behind that pile of books with a glass of water on top? So very beautiful.... All your little corners are dreamy - and so are your photos...

Your shoe and book collections are to die for!
ReplyDeleteThe fourth picture immediately made me think of the quote,
ReplyDelete"Bibliophiles are easy to spot at cocktail parties. They are the ones lingering near the host's bookshelves, their heads cocked at a 45 degree angle, scanning the collection of books and comparing it to their own."
I found myself, head tipped sideways, reading off your titles and smiling.
that's quite a shoe collection! i love your distinctive photographic style, it's so calming to look at!
ReplyDeleteummm, peonies.... question. how is it that people like you are able to keep their shoes so beautifully lined up? is it that you're genetically predisposed to actually put them away at the end of the day vs. letting them just hang out where you took them off until you decide to wear them again (like me)? please, i'm dying to know.
ReplyDeleteOh, your shoes. I'm dying right now over your lovely shoes.
ReplyDeleteJust as soon as we have one lovely corner, I'll be grinning from ear to ear and thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteoh your shoes are so beautiful!!!!!
ReplyDeletelovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteoh the shoes! :) and the glass atop a stack of books.
ReplyDeleteIt's heartening to find some corners of sanctury admidst the chaos isn't it. My chaos is created by 2 small people with far too much time on their hands.
ReplyDeleteI am very much looking forward to seeing the rest of your house as it unfolds x
Tee-hee blue12rain, me too!
ReplyDeleteIs that wainscotting I spy behind those sweet, sweet shoes?
What a loverly home.
Peonies, can i come steal one of those little magical corners? It seems impossible to have any at all in a little apartment...but now you have given me hope!
ReplyDeletePlease can I come and live with you?! Just for a few pretty pretty days!?
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, everyone's going on about the shoes, but I had to jump on the bandwagon - it is now my dream to have the cupboard space to display my shoes in neat rows for the world to enjoy.
