"If you're going to buy a sheep buy a good sheep"
These words strike me as Very Important to Remember.
words: farmer Adam Hanson on last night's Countryfile, which we have taken to watching with our dinner of a Sunday evening.
picture: a Very Good Sheep at this year's Royal Highland Show. An award winning sheep no less.
What a gorgeous sheep! I would choose this one if I were in the market.
ReplyDeletei, personally, would prefer a goat.
ReplyDeleteI think that sheep knows he's a good sheep. Something in the way he is wearing those earrings....
ReplyDeletemmmmmmmm, if i were to buy a sheep i would have to buy a farm
ReplyDeletehahaha awesome - but now i feel bad for all the average sheep out there :(

Trying to imagine a sheep in our back "garden"... nope. Not working....
ReplyDeleteI recommend "The Ghostman of Skye" on BBC iPlayer, proper old countryman telly, really lovely.
Prompting me to ask - "What is the difference between a sheep and a goat?"
ReplyDeleteLPC - apparently just 6 chromosomes!
ReplyDeleteVery cool sheep.. I think black sheep are so much more hansom than the common white variety. Trying to convince my brother to get some.. will let him know this important bit of advice!
I saw this episode too! Sage advice indeed!
ReplyDeleteThis post is almost a sign. I have a wonderful fascination with sheep and I have been considering getting one next spring.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog..it makes me miss my homeland. This post made me miss good TV!!!
Thanks for sharing.
lol prophetic!
ReplyDeleteI think I shall write good sheep on my debit card, as a reminder.
ReplyDeletewhat great advice. I think I will apply it to shoes, as my need for sheep are somewhat limited in central London.
ReplyDeleteHa! Love it! ...a metaphor for so many things.
ReplyDeleteI think that the sheep is a Hebridean. I live at an Agricultural College and one of the Hebridean's escaped going to slaughter and so lived rough for a few years - clever sheep. Now I'd quite fancy keeping some Herdwick's.
ReplyDeleteA very, very good sheep.
ReplyDeleteThat quote really brightened my day (well it's 11pm, but it did give me a little giggle and something to think about).
ReplyDeleteI vow not to buy a not-so-good sheep. Ever again. : )
