Spring is coming Spring is coming Spring is coming
Winter is hard on the Peonies/Boy/Rabbit household. We don't like dark skies and short days, we don't like getting our feet wet, we don't like waking up with frosty noses and snuffles and we really don't like how batshitcrazy the whole season makes us feel. But spring is coming. There are snowdrops* in the parks and in the florists and they told me so.
*First snowdrops of the season. Do you get to make a wish on them or is that something that I made up a little bit?
i've been going through this too. we have been getting more sunshine here lately so that helps. spring will come...someday in the next couple months. keep your eyes on the prize.
ReplyDeleteYes I think so. My wish is for a happy bouncing lupin.
ReplyDeletei will make wishes on anything if it would bring spring.
ReplyDeleteWish wish away!! You don't know until you try. Maybe El Nino will be listening and start to kick in full force.
ReplyDeleteI have been feeling the same way. I can handle the cold, but I *hate* the dark.
ReplyDeleteBut Spring! Yay!
Spring is definitely coming! First come the snowdrops and then daffodils and once the daffs are here it is absolutely springtime. Not remembering a tradition of making wishes but hey if you want to go for it. I wish for things everyday just for the hope that one day they might come true.
ReplyDeleteseasons? what are those?

ReplyDeleteI can officially confirm that too much sun also makes you batshitcrazy ;)
ReplyDeleteSeconding anna and the ring; my wish is for healthy family.
Hurray!!
ReplyDeleteIt better be there in full force by the time I'm back...
Oh. Thank. God.
ReplyDeleteYou get to make wishes on them. For sure. And Spring is coming. Bad news for me is that it'll last maybe two weeks, and then it'll be the dead of summer. For, like, 6 months. I kid you not. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteCelia is kind of lucky that way.

“Wish on everything. Pink cars are good, especially old ones. And stars of course, first stars and shooting stars. Planes will do if they are the first light in the sky and look like stars. Wish in tunnels, holding your breath and lifting your feet off the ground. Birthday candles. Baby teeth.” - Francesca Lia Block

when when when when when when? :)
ReplyDeletei love spring, although i must say, i was convinced i had SAD - seasonal affective disorder - for years every winter until i started snowboarding, and now i look forward to being outside in the snow almost as much as going to the beach. so odd, i know.
The short days make me miserable, too. I can't imagine how bad it is all winter further north.
ReplyDeleteI say wish all you want. The flowers are lovely. =)
Hi Cara ~ I have just found you via the ever so lovely Maria from Vintage Simple. Just wanted to say I love your blog:) We are heading into Autumn here in Australia so I am happy that it is going to be Spring somewhere. Enjoy:) ~ Tina
ReplyDeleteIt keeps snowing here. BAH. Bring the sun with you when you come, won't you? xox
ReplyDeleteI lurrve the cold but that's probably because I come from a very hot dry place that doesn't really get too cold. Oh, how I wish for snow and fireplaces and the wearing of cardigans...hope you have a lovely spring when it comes:)
ReplyDeleteI have spotted a few now too - it's about time isn't it! I seem to have been pining for Spring for far too long now.

PS: I have a little giveaway on my blog at the mo - please check it out!
Love ur Blog and love your snowdrops! Keeping a look out here in my garden for them too!
ReplyDeleteWe all want sprng to arrive! Please no more snow!!!
Beautiful image!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agreed. The only time I ever really enjoy a freezing cold winter is when I am curled up in front of a fire (hard to do with no fireplace), or snowboarding (hard to to with no mountains close by).
ReplyDeletedon't like how batshitcrazy the whole season makes us feel.....Thank you!
ReplyDeleteTotally okay to wish on them. I heard somewhere that you can track the spread of spring Northwards if you monitor the progress of snowdrops...ours arrived in London a couple of weeks ago so maybe it is true. Maybe one day I'll just spend a few weeks chasing snowdrops up the country! One can but dream...
