You know when you're walking down a street by yourself (always by yourself) and the sun is shining and your hair looks good and you don't have any vomit on your trousers, what song do you hear? What song would be the soundtrack to that bit in the film of your life where everything is going right, just briefly? Mine is Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes. It's impossible not to hear that song in your head and not feel like you're the coolest cat in the whole damn world.
*inspired by this post by Miss Pickering, who I believe might be one of the coolest cats in the whole damn world.
my default stuck-in-head song has been let me clear my throat since i was a little one. uh huh uh huh uh god damn... and it makes me smile & dance so i guess that could be my soundtrack for a good day.
Best heard live but played on the CD up load is still good. Lady Luck - Liz Stringer http://www.myspace.com/lizstringermusician/music/songs/lady-luck-36969907
A friend once said she imagined my internal theme tune was ' mystify' by INXS. I was pleased. Definitely gives me a strut when not pushing a buggy/ walking at one mile an hour with toddler.
Honestly? At the moment it's got to be Maroon 5 - Moves like Jagger, but normally when walking down the street after dropping kids off and feeling great I end up humming, manama by the muppets!!! And I'll bet you'll be doing the same right now!!! lol
I love this song! And i was more than a little horrified when I discovered that Maroon 5 sang it, then just shrugged it off and went back to loving it again. Great choice!
Nancie Griffith singing, "Keep on the sunny side" always pops into my head when I'm in a good mood and especially when I'm walking to work and the other side of the street has the sun shining on it. I always cross the street.
