Do you know Flower Floret Farm? If not, you probably need them in your life (or their blog, at least). They're an organic flower farm north of Seattle and their life makes my heart ache for a world of sunsets and dahlias and wheelbarrows of soil and baby chickens at my feet and fairies in the foxgloves (because I'm sure that's exactly what running a flower farm is like. All of the time.) While the chances of me running away to start a flower farm are slim, I am all kinds of excited about the beautiful things we will grow in our garden, if we ever find it.

Roses, roses, roses. Lavender, sweet pea, lychnis. Abelia, iris, rosemary. Ceanothus. Gardens are lifelong friends. I hope you love yours.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too. Have I ever told you my guilty secret? .... I don't like plants. And they can tell, Nye's started dying as soon as I moved in. I'm hoping that having them outdoors, in their rightful place, will make a difference.
Deleteyou are too sweet : )
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking the time to comment! Your beautiful place has me so inspired.
Deleteyou'll just have to come and stay with us Cara and then you can visit them yourselves!
ReplyDeleteYes please! Only the small matter of four plane tickets....
Deleteyou;ll have to visit Green & Gorgeous near Oxford when you move down south. it's where my sister got her wedding flowers and these photos really reminded me of the beautiful day that my other sister and i went to collect the flowers.
ReplyDelete(she was also called Rachel and her previous cat was called Delilah - what are the chances of that?!)
Oh yes please!
DeleteFloret Flower Farm has inspired me and Mr Beard so much that we are actually going to try and do it for real next year after the wedding, we are looking at land as we speak...watch this space!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? That's amazing. You'll need a resident photographer of course.
Delete(and then you and Miss P will take over the world, no?)
DeleteSeriously! Mr B is a landscaper and does magic things with York stone so he will do that and I will grow things. Hopefully including growing small people. We will obviously need a photographer and a florist to turn our graft into art. And I know just the people!
DeleteI want their life too! Thank you for leading me to their blog. I've also been enjoying yours - beautiful wedding photographs, I love the headless bride in the embroidered shawl, those little posies she's carrying are simply stunning.
