GS, the cardigan came from Monsoon. I saw it a year ago but they sold out of my size straight away, then eventually I found it on ebay. I was so pleased that it went ok with the dress as I wasn't sure it would!
Littlewinterbride, The Boy and The Bridesmaid took some really beautiful photos!
OH! I'm gasping for breath because it's all so gloriously beautiful. So detailed yet simple; a little bit elegant, a little bit vintage...stunning. And the last photo of the layers is just beyond words.
These photos together are such a gorgeous set. I actually really like having things revealed in little tidbits instead of seeing everything at once. The dress looks like you, and everything you have described about yourself thus far. I think you are so beautiful!
i was wondering how a distinctive, original, individual girl like you found a dress at pronovias, but now it all makes sense! you found the one, made-for-you needle in the heap of indistinct, unoriginal needles in the haystack! (this is not a critique of pronovias dresses, i almost bought one myself.) your dress is perfect and you're going to look like a dream. yay.
Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments, they've really made my day. I've really missed having the opinions of other women, The Boy and one of our bridesmaids are the only people who've seen it and sometimes you need some girly points of view!
FF, what a description! A little bit elegant, a little bit vintage was exactly what I hoped it would be! And I love the layers too. I thought they were a bit much until The Boy took that photograph and now I love them!
Jenna, thank you. You're so sweet.
Susan, thank you!
East Side, the shoes are perfect! Thank you so much for your help with them! You saved the wedding outfit!
Marli, yes a lot of Pronovias' dresses are very undistinctive. Luckily they have so many that there were a few gorgeous ones!
Laura, I'm so glad you think so! I was starting to wonder if I had just convinced myself that it looked vintage out of desperate desire for it to do so!
Meg, it means so much to me that you love it! I regard you as one very stylish woman!
Thank you Zoe! He's actually seen it (we're not traditional like that!) and he helped pick it. But I think he will be overwhelmed anyway, once it fits and there's the hair and make up and flowers!
first, The dress is beautiful! and you look lovely in it.
Second, could I ask you a more technical question? How wide is the ribbon that you used and how long did you cut it to make the beautiful bow and to wrap it twice? (I'm ordering ribbon online and your picture is exactly what I'm thinking for my bridesmaids and I just wanted a guesstimate before I order it!) Thank You for your wonderful blog. I love reading it!
Thank you Sarah, I was worried that the jacket would be too much with it but it does go quite well doesn't it!
Kim, thank you! I love it too, finally!
Jangel205, thank you and welcome to P&P. As for the ribbon, it was 32mm wide and I bought 3 yards of it from www.silkribbon.com. I think my waist is about 25 inches so 50 inches of that was wrapped around my waist. So....
waist measurement x 2 + 58 inches = ribbon just like mine!
Oh wow, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI kept going to comment, then having to scroll back up and look at these photos again. They're glorious!
