I wanted to share our nursery with you. We decided to go for a monochromatic colour scheme, working with sophisticated shades of grey and off white. There are so many things for the babies to touch and play with and we've added a splash of colour with a fun yellow bucket in which to store their toys. We have gone for very minimalist furniture to accentuate all of the different textures although I like to think that we have achieved a touch of the rusty/rustic chic look. I especially love the double sleeping bags that we found, Widdle and Puke are going to look so adorbs in those.
I'm so proud of this room....
absolutely amazing.
ReplyDeletethis just made my day :)
especially the sleeping bags
haha... I read this before scrolling down to see the pictures... very funny.
ReplyDeletethe yellow bucket is a nice touch.
HAHAHAHAHA awesome!
ReplyDeleteI looked at the pictures first then read the description ... and I thought "uhhhh did I accidently go to the wrong post"
Looks so cozy! Lucky babies - they'll be so happy there - very womblike... ;o)
ReplyDelete(can't wait to see the finished product...)
HILARIOUS – I think I get the reference - do i.....?
ReplyDeletehahahahhaha.
ReplyDeleteoh, hang in there p. hugs.
hahaha i read this before scrolling down as well and laughed out loud! brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering who on earth had taken over Peonies and was writing on this blog;). Adorbs indeed.
ReplyDeleteperfect post.
ReplyDeleteLOL - literally
ReplyDeleteFabulous. Love the utilitarian lighting as well, so on-trend.
ReplyDeleteFabulous dahling, just fabulous :D
ReplyDeleteHow industrial chic - you nailed it. Also, LOVE the natural light! Very budget-friendly, too, no? :-)
ReplyDeleteBaaaahhaahahaha! Another reason why I love you.
ReplyDeleteI'm always intrigued by construction outside the US. This reminds me a bit of Brasil, but probably just because of the plaster.
While the pics uploaded I thought "Oh no, surely she's not done the smug nursery post?" I should never have doubted you. I am due in nov too and have bought absolutely zilch and have no space for a nursery. Babies are really small, right? People used to keep them in drawers!
ReplyDeletex
Haa! You're hilarious!
ReplyDeleteYour 'during' photos are so much better than mine. Never thought I would care about my 'before' or 'during' photos but apparently I do. (Must dig out the one of the textured walls in the hallway where the artex would CUT YOUR HAND.)
Hope it's coming along swimmingly. All will be well. As you know, babies sleep happily in drawers.
delicious! i hope you'll leave space for their matching carts.
ReplyDeleteLove what you've done with the place.
ReplyDeleteAnd Cate is right - we had family friends going through a renovation when their baby was born. They just pulled out a dresser drawer in their bedroom, lined it with blankets, and let her sleep in there. Cribs are for wussies, right?
Haha... I especially love the double pink plastic "Princess Carriage" crib you put in there. And I also like the pink frou-frouey chintzy draperies; I sew, so if you want I could make you little blankets covered in rhinestones that spell out "supermodel" and "diva," to go with them.
ReplyDeleteShit!
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow bucket! haha
ReplyDeleteSweet jesus, now I have tea up my nose again. Painfully funny. And hang in there...
ReplyDelete"Rusty chic" - ha! I do believe you've coined a new design term. :)
ReplyDeleteI love you C. And I love what you've done with the place. I will be saving it in my inspiration folder for my upcoming nursery inspirations post. ha.
ReplyDeleteit's more than i've got.
ReplyDeletei was originally opposed to the "lolita" poster, but i think it would suit the place well.
ha! I wondered too.
ReplyDeleteElle Decor, take note!
ReplyDeleteP.S. You guys crack me up.
MAAAAAAAAAAAHLOVEYOU.
ReplyDeletelove it. so cozy!
ReplyDeleteBest nursery post ever!!!
ReplyDeleteLOFL....ooohhh the rusty fixtures, and jagged shards of rock accent the room nicely! ;)
ReplyDeleteGrey is the best color.
ReplyDeletethey have light! what more could the possibly need?
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely. I just hope those paint chips are rich in lead content, young babies need their vitamins you know. And how nice that they'll already have their first tool set. I just got my nephew his first saw for his birthday. Who says you need ten fingers?!
ReplyDeleteLucky babies they are!
You. Are. FUCKINGAWESOME!
ReplyDeleteyou are such a nut!
ReplyDeleteOkay. you had me going for a second, and then I was all, "Adorbs? Really?" Nice work.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I was wondering if pregnancy had made you a bit doodleally, but phew!
ReplyDeleteThey dont need a nursery until they are, like at least 2 though, right?! you've got aaaaages!
Priceless! What a great antidote to all those precious perfect nurseries everyone else seems to blog (show off) about...nothing in our matches and I don't care!
ReplyDeleteso much rustic charm. widdle & puke will love it!
ReplyDeletethis is HILARIOUS. made my day.
ReplyDeleteSaw this on my phone first, sans pictures, thought you'd gone all Elle Decor on us. Reading it now on my computer, I appreciate you haven't. Brilliant.
ReplyDeletehahahahahahahahahaha! it's picture perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with the place. And the fact that you used the word adorbs.
ReplyDeleteHilarious.
It's going to look awesome, you'll see. It just needs that poster of the dogs sniffing their butts and a couple of other minor tweaks. It'll be great.
lovelove,
