The nursery

I wanted to share our nursery with you. We decided to go for a monochromatic colour scheme, working with sophisticated shades of grey and off white. There are so many things for the babies to touch and play with and we've added a splash of colour with a fun yellow bucket in which to store their toys. We have gone for very minimalist furniture to accentuate all of the different textures although I like to think that we have achieved a touch of the rusty/rustic chic look. I especially love the double sleeping bags that we found, Widdle and Puke are going to look so adorbs in those.
I'm so proud of this room....

  12. Baaaahhaahahaha! Another reason why I love you.

I'm always intrigued by construction outside the US. This reminds me a bit of Brasil, but probably just because of the plaster.

  13. While the pics uploaded I thought "Oh no, surely she's not done the smug nursery post?" I should never have doubted you. I am due in nov too and have bought absolutely zilch and have no space for a nursery. Babies are really small, right? People used to keep them in drawers!

  14. Haa! You're hilarious!

Your 'during' photos are so much better than mine. Never thought I would care about my 'before' or 'during' photos but apparently I do. (Must dig out the one of the textured walls in the hallway where the artex would CUT YOUR HAND.)

Hope it's coming along swimmingly. All will be well. As you know, babies sleep happily in drawers.

  16. Love what you've done with the place.

And Cate is right - we had family friends going through a renovation when their baby was born. They just pulled out a dresser drawer in their bedroom, lined it with blankets, and let her sleep in there. Cribs are for wussies, right?

  17. Haha... I especially love the double pink plastic "Princess Carriage" crib you put in there. And I also like the pink frou-frouey chintzy draperies; I sew, so if you want I could make you little blankets covered in rhinestones that spell out "supermodel" and "diva," to go with them.

  22. it's more than i've got.

i was originally opposed to the "lolita" poster, but i think it would suit the place well.

  27. It's so lovely. I just hope those paint chips are rich in lead content, young babies need their vitamins you know. And how nice that they'll already have their first tool set. I just got my nephew his first saw for his birthday. Who says you need ten fingers?!

    Lucky babies they are!

  36. I love what you've done with the place. And the fact that you used the word adorbs.

    Hilarious.

It's going to look awesome, you'll see. It just needs that poster of the dogs sniffing their butts and a couple of other minor tweaks. It'll be great.
