overheard...

Nye (muttering under his breath as he discovers some scene of carnage): 'oh, you little bollocks'
Ammie (loudly and excitedly): 'Ammie bollock!'
Ella (concernedly) 'Ella not bollock, Ammie bollock.'
Nye: 'oh god.'
Cara (in another room): laughs hysterically, leaves room to prompt numerous repetitions of toddler bad language.

Parenting fail.

I started a tumblr, recording Widdle and Puke's adventures in language. It amazes me continuously how much they understand and how fast their brains are moving, it's no wonder that they short circuit sometimes.

    1. Oh personality isn't something that they've ever lacked. In fact, sometimes there's quite the excess.

    1. baloobs! The girls call them beeboos (which we eventually realised is boobies reversed.)

  8. One of our biggest parenting fails: Taking our (vacuum cleaner OBSESSED) 2 year old son to a (posh/snazzy/pretentious) department store and showing him a "miniature toy Dyson" when clearly we could not afford to buy it. Allowing him to see it and then (SO STUPIDLY) saying "Ok that's enough now... let's go" We paid for it though ... big time. You see his pronunciation of the word "vacuum cleaner" was not yet up to standard so we had to carry a screaming toddler through the (posh/snazzy/pretentious) department store whilst he howled ... LOUDLY ... "F**K Yume!!" which actually just sound like "F**k you!!" ... Yep, parenting is one big happy ride. :-) xx
