Pretty ephemera..

I love dresses. Dresses belong on the same list as cupcakes and flowery china and bunny paraphernalia, the list of things that I love as much as you can love things that aren't really supposed to be loved because people are for loving and things are for having but that inspire a feeling close to love in those that have a weakness for dresses and cupcakes and flowery china and bunnies. That list. Or as Sunday Brunch says...

"No matter how elegant, how timeless, a dress still billows in breezes and swishes in doorways, is always a little different with each wearing and on each person. We don’t dress up to be like someone else, we dress up to be ourselves. A dress makes us more aware of being alive (and not by pinching at the waist!). A dress is about savouring life, *our* lives. When we read a good story, we close our eyes and see the characters. The right dress can make us feel that way. We all deserve to be that sure of, and that happy with, who we are, wherever we are."

Sunday Brunch sells lovely dresses. Lovely, unusual, beautifully designed dresses. I want this one. And this one. And maybe this one.

I feel blue. No, not blue. Grey perhaps.

Flat and still like a glass of water left sitting on the night stand, dust gathering on the surfaces like leaves on an abandoned swimming pool.

Decisions need to be made but I don't want to make them, I want to nap. For at least a month, three ought to do it though.

And when I wake I will be a fizzing glass of lemonade with bubbles bursting like tiny fireworks on the surface and a flavour that makes naps seem a million miles away.

It started with the shoes...

It started with the shoes. And then I found a dress. I then fell for the peacock necklace and the pussy willow earrings. Finally I found the ring and a whole outfit was born. A whole outfit I couldn't afford but was desperately lusting after....

Actually I think that this might be a couple of outfits, as much as I love over accessorising the earrings and the necklace might just scream crazy lady if worn together.

He's not bald, he doesn't have an 8 inch bat tattooed across his scalp and he hasn't owned a motorised bicycle for at least decade (which might be a good reason to get rid of the bloody great helmet sitting in the cupboard. Just sayin.) but he does love animals so what do I need with a big baldy biker?

And he rescues helpless fluffies too. A while before I met The Boy he was out on the town of an evening. He spotted some neds (further information for international readers) on a street corner throwing chips at something something small and furry. That small furry thing was reappropriated from the wee bastards, popped in his shirt pocket and accompanied The Boy to the pub that evening. She later became known as Mercy and was The Boy's first hamster. By the time I moved in with him he had acquired 14 of them. He gets a little carried away sometimes. And that dear readers, is one of the reasons that I love him.

lazy girls and weddings

"Man has finally made the request, and you view a permanent smug grin You think that such a measure of love and fresh water, there is no reason for anxiety for the number of d sofa a buffet which you do not even earn? Very nice, except it was dark knee, the buffet was trying somehow to play with three princely feast peanuts and the atmosphere is never rise after the speech of his gravelly ex ".

To not get there, this guide tells you everything to be full and radiant the day, and say "ouuuuiii" by paying as tears of joy, not those of a nervous breakdown hysterical organize your event dreams within your budget and profile of adverse family - oops sorry, the beautiful family calmly address each stage of preparation with lots of tips from the paperwork until makeup and be a reference to your guests on "zénitude" and successful marriage.

So the fairies at work, a magical day, it is preparing to stick."

Following a suggestion mentioned in a comment by Ann C of Jolis Mariages referring to a French book about weddings on a post by Meg of A Practical Wedding (isn't the blog chain fun?) about how crap wedding books are (oh yes they are. Seriously. Crap. Which isn't to say that I didn't spend hours, weeks, months sitting in the book shop reading said books and snorting derisively, but actually pay for one? God no) I came to this book on Amazon.

Now, my understanding of the French is limited and so it appears, is my understanding of google translations. In fact this translation makes as much sense to me as most wedding books written in English but it's a damn site funnier. All guesses as to what the writer is getting at in the comments box please.

Big Baldy Bikers with Kittens...

Big baldy bikers with kittens, and puppies, who spend their own money rescuing kittens and puppies from bad peoples? Where can I get myself one of these big baldy bikers because I really really want one. Or maybe we could move to New York (I really wouldn't mind that at all) and I could rescue kittens with them and make them tea and polish their tattoos? Yes, I think that's a plan.
